About Us!

Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department is comprised of thirty members that respond and protect 27.7 square miles of mainly rural and suburban territory with a population of 5,100, in Madison County, just outside Anderson, Indiana. Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department operates out of one station with seven pieces of firefighting apparatus and two transporting basic life support ambulances. Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department responds to an average of 275 runs each year, with approximately one-fifth of those providing mutual aid outside the township.  We are dispatched from the Madison County Sheriff's Department located in downtown Anderson.  We also have our own tactical channel (Radio ID: KNCR677).  Our members are all from Richland Township or surrounding townships.
